Playa Negra Restaurants:

Villa Deveena for fine french dining, hidden away in a secret oasis. Our personal favorite.
For casual dining try Mary’s Place, Cafe Playa Negra, Hotel Playa Negra, JW Marriot Hacienda Panilla and Cafe LaVentana’s for your morning latte.   A must do is lunch at Lola’s which is just 5 minutes drive to the north in Avenallas.

Nearby Services:

Junquillal is a 10 minutes drive (5 km) to the south and has a small but fairly well stocked grocery store for basic items, including spirits.

Tamarindo is the main town in the area and is 20 -25 minutes to the north. You will find a larger grocery store, banks, many beach side restaurants, bars, surf and gift shops.
Gas stations are few and far between so you must plan in advance -  Santa Cruz, a sabanero (cowboy) town is 30 - 35 minutes south east and has one of the closest gas stations.  There is not a lot to see here but there are grocery stores and basic services.

Nicoya Peninsula and Northwestern Costa Rica:

Arenol volcano & hot springs, Santa Rosa National Park, Rincon Volcano  & thermal pools and Monteverde National Park.
